Welcome! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Jean A. Massa, aka JAMdesigns. A couple of years ago, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Design from California State University Sacramento. I also hold an Associate Degree in Graphic Communications from Sacramento City College, along with a few course Certificates. My training and background before I pursued my degree in Graphic Design is as an Executive Secretary, where I not only reported to the President of the firm but, managed the office. I spent about 12 years in the secretarial field, working in the medical, accounting, international trade and construction industries.
For about 4 years I worked as a Window & Store Designer in the floral industry. I merchandised, assisted in the purchasing of gift items, serviced and staged weddings. I spent a few years at the Chicago Merchandise Mart as a Showroom Designer, where I traveled between the Chicago and the Minneapolis showrooms. Between shows, I did showroom sales.
About 23 years ago, I left the work force to be a stay-at-home mom and raise my two children. During this time I wore many hats; from running the household to serving on the board of the Little League as Head Score keeper. I also worked as a Teacher's Aide, and managed and produced the school yearbook for 3 years. While I was home, I continued my education in order to receive my Bachelor Degree.
Now that my kids are off on their adventures, I am embarking on the next phase of my life as a freelance Graphic Designer. Check back with me every once in a while to see what I am up to and to view more of my work.
